Location Labs is looking for an exceptional
designer to join our UX and Visual Design team
this summer. This is a paid internship program.

• About Location Labs •

We're a fast-growing, profitable tech company
conveniently located in Emeryville, CA. (That's
right next to Berkeley and an easy commute from
San Francisco.) Our products help individuals and
families use their mobile phones for safety,
coordination, and communication. We have more
than a million customers paying real money to use
those products. That keeps our design team busy and the bar high.

About the Internship •

We want your ideas and fresh perspective. In
return we offer a chance to work on interesting "real world" design problems.

Specifically, you'd be a member of the UX and
Visual Design team. We deal with: understanding
our users and their problems, proposing products
and features to address those problems, testing
our proposed solutions, crafting functional and
beautiful experiences, and then working with
developers to support building the product.

By summer's end our vision is that you've seen
one or more projects through, learned a lot, and had some fun along the way.

• What too expect •

Exposure: Work in startup-like environment and
focus on deeply interesting work that you
wouldn’t get to do anywhere else. Prepare to
make a large scale impact in a short amount of time.

Professional Development: Participate in weekly
“lunch and learns” with other interns, attend
skill building workshops and networking meet ups,
and work closely with friendly folks that are happy to share.

Mentorship: Look forward to one-on-one time with
dedicated managers and mentors to facilitate your
growth throughout the summer internship experience.

Fun: Explore the city through our planned intern
social outings, and develop your network while
getting to know your peers and Location Labs' leaders.

• Minimum qualifications •

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's
degree in Visual Design, UX Design, HCI, Product Design, or a related field.
- Must be currently enrolled in a full time
degree program and returning to the program after
the completion of the internship.

• Preferred qualifications •
<

- Experience with mobile and web app design
- Experience with user-centered research
- Strength in layout, color, typography, and branding
