Oculeve is a venture-backed Stanford Biodesign
startup looking to bring on a manufacturing
engineering intern to help in the development of
a novel treatment for dry eye disease. We are
seeking an energetic, hardworking, and motivated
candidate to work on a wide variety of projects;
essential responsibilities and duties include,
but are not limited to the following:

Â

·         Manufacturing process
development (e.g., improving efficiency, increasing yield, reducing cost, etc.)

·         Developing and documenting
test methods, manufacturing instructions, inspection procedures etc.

·         Designing test fixtures
(SolidWorks modeling, creating/modifyingÂ
engineering drawings, communicating with
machinists/consultants, assembling fixtures, testing/debugging, etc.)

·         Coordinating product orders and testing with suppliers

·         Performing product testing and assembly as needed

·         Supporting Quality Assurance
group (e.g., equipment calibrations, incoming receiving and inspection, etc.)

·         Supporting R&D, clinical departments as needed

·         Developing Engineering
reports, protocols, etc. to qualify processes, design, sub-assemblies, etc.

·         Ensuring preventive
maintenance is performed for all relevant equipment, where applicable.

·         Leading and supporting troubleshooting activities.

The position may include other
tasks/responsibilities based on the candidate's
interests and capabilities, and the needs of the
company. The description above does not include
all aspects of the position, such as the
potential additional duties assigned by
management, and the requirement for flexibility
in assisting others for the company’s overall benefit.

Work will include interfacing with several other
members of Oculeve's small team, as well as
working independently. We need someone who can
completely take ownership of several projects and
see them through to completion. The position
will be full-time during the summer, and can
begin immediately on a part-time basis. Oculeve
headquarters is located in South San Francisco;
occasional travel (e.g., supplier visits) may be required.

·         Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.Tech.) in Engineering.

·         Initiative and independence

·         Enthusiasm and excitement to learn

·         Passion for working in medical device field

·         Highly organized
