analysis (frequency response, motion simulation), thermal analysis
• CAD (Solidworks) - Medium complexity assembly,
part design for injection molding, die casting, machining
• Tolerance design - tolerance stack and
tolerance selection based on mfg method and cost requirements
• DFM - determine design and engineering
implications and requirements of stamping,
injection molding, sand/shell casting, die
casting, and powder metallurgy processes
• Test development and execution –testing of
mechanical systems to generate information which
will be used to improve reliability
• Performance plastics - fatigue, wear, high and
low temperature, weathering, impact, chemical compatibility
• Rubbers and sealing systems – previous
experience with the design of O-ring and gasket
sealing of pressurized air that must withstand
high and low temps, chemical exposure, and moist environments
