San Francisco based Meka Robotics seeks a disciplined, creative, and
hands on maker and mechanical technician to lead in-house prototyping
of innovative research hardware and humanoid robot platforms. An
ideal candidate will have professional prototyping experience, have
an intuitive understanding of mechanical systems, and have a
meticulous attention to detail and is highly organized.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Machining of complex metal and plastic robot parts from SolidWorks models
* Assemble and debug mechanical subsystems
* Manage and organize the prototype shop
* Support engineering team with quick turn fabrication of prototypes
* Assist with the cabling, testing, and assembly of robots
Desired Experience:
* 1+ year with Haas CNC machining center
* SolidWorks and MasterCam
* Strong experience metal and plastic machining complex 3D parts with
high tolerances
* Strong experience with manual mill, lathe, and general fabrication
* Sheet metal fabrication
* Mold making and injection molding experience a plus
* Use of laser cutter and 3D printer
* Experience working with external machine shops
* Preparation of SolidWorks shop drawings for external vendors
* Excel, MS Word, Corel

located on the edge of the Dog Patch district in San Francisco, near
