Job Location: Portland, Oregon
The heart of Nike is built around one simple idea -- innovate. Whether
that innovation is called Nike Air or ACG or Nike Swift or Nike Shox,
the principle is the same: think something that nobody has thought
before, or improve something that already exists. It's how we create
our products, and it's the way we treat the people we work with.
As our Innovation Engineer, you'll work on a team to create the next
generation of soccer equipment utilizing exceptional engineering,
testing, and biomechanics. You'll develop a deep understanding of and
insights into athletic equipment performance through observation,
interviews, product use, testing and benchmarking. You'll build
virtual and physical models of multiple solutions, utilizing rapid
prototyping methods to explore your ideas. You'll develop field and
lab test methodology and equipment, and execute those tests, coming to
conclusions about product improvements and next steps via quantitative
and qualitative methods. You'll interact with factories and vendors to
manufacture your concepts for use by athletes around the world.
Requirements for the position include:
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 4 years' work experience.
-Direct experience in consumer product engineering and manufacturing
- 3-D CAD capabilities
-Experience with lab and field-testing of product concepts

documentation including scheduling and resource planning
-Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
-Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
-Passion and knowledge of the game of soccer is a plus

plan, casual work environment, childcare and a host of other
perks we don't have room to mention here.
