Website Design Internship, Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development (Remote)

The Institute’s Website Design Internship Program, part of our Marketing Internship track, offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of UX/UI, Interaction Design.

Children and Screens will redesign its current website to make it more user friendly; including the information architecture and navigation, allowing for easy content consumption and interactivity as well as develop its brand identity. The internship program will offer an opportunity for four graduate and undergraduate students in the field of UX/UI Interaction Design to work with an in-house UX/UI designer plus a consultant developer on this redesign.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the expansion of the new website
Increase the user experience of both internal and external facing tools
Analyze and Implement feedback
Identify market trends and how to implement them in relation to UI/UX at Children and Screens
Partner with our Marketing team to help achieve design and business objectives

Eligibility
Currently enrolled in UX/UI design, Interaction design, or HCI program
Proven academic record (minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0)
Skilled in WordPress, Figma and/or XD, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop | Bonus Skills: HTML/CSS Excellent prototyping and presentation skills
Highly organized and ability to work within a fast-paced team environment on a self-directed basis to support dynamic needs
Extraordinary work ethic, committed to achieving excellence
Will Children and Screens provide travel expenses in addition to the stipend? (No.)

Will Children and Screens provide housing arrangements in addition to the stipend? (No.)

Can I do a shortened internship? (No, each internship requires a minimum of three months. Extension beyond this semester-long stint may be possible, subject to the availability of funds and satisfaction with work. No stipend will be awarded if the internship must be cut short, with the exception of illness.)

Positions will be filled on a rolling basis. Participants receive a small stipend upon completing the three-month internship. All internships will be remote, part-time or full-time, with some flexibility around prior educational commitments. Preference will be given to those recommended by program directors and based on their experience and qualifications.
