Who we are:
NanoCore Technologies is an early stage
technology company that has developed a method of
metal additive manufacturing that is an order of
magnitude less complicated and expensive than
existing printers. Today, laser melting 3D metal
printers cost half a million dollars or more and
are based on hazardous powdered metals and
expensive high-powered lasers. NanoCore is
taking an entirely different approach that
utilizes proprietary materials science and
machine design to make metal 3D printing easier,
safer and less expensive than previously
imaginable. To put it simply, we believe our
technology will fundamentally change how metal parts are manufactured.
We are a dedicated team of engineers and
scientists that is passionate about manufacturing
innovation. We see technical challenges as
opportunities and we employ teamwork to find
creative solutions. If you arenā€™t excited
about getting your hands dirty, please donā€™t
apply. NanoCore is located in San Francisco, CA
and offers competitive salaries, benefits and stock options.
Your Role:
You will lead the machine design team consisting
of mechanical, electrical, firmware and software
engineers through all phases of product
development from prototype design to production deployment.
You will combine years of scientific equipment
system integration experience with a solid
background in mechanical engineering, firmware,
and electrical engineering to help NanoCore bring
our first metal 3D printers to market. Other responsibilities include:
• Demonstrating leadership across design, product
strategy, and team management to shepherd the
NanoCore engineering team to successfully design
and deploy a line of 3D metal printers
• Designing and documenting complicated
mechanical and electrical parts and assemblies
consisting of hundreds of discrete components
• Sourcing of custom manufacturing services from
a broad vendor base offering services ranging
from CNC machining to contract manufacturing and assembly
Your Qualifications:
• Broad experience with:
• Mechanical systems and mechanical component specification
• Firmwware and/or system integration for precision industrial equipment
• Electtrical systems and electrical component specification
• 6-10 years of experience in desiggning high
precision industrial and/or scientific equipment
consisting of structural elements (custom & stock
metal and plastic components), motion elements
(motors, bearings, linear & rotary motion guides,
mirror positioning), and sensing elements
(mechanical, thermal, optical, magnetic, and other sensors)
• Demonstrated management experiencce leading
cross disciplinary teams through all phases of
product development from conception to full-scale manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to solve a wide range of
technical problems through a combination of creativity and scientific rigor
• Masters in mechanical engineeringg, electrical
engineering, or software engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
