The Breakthrough Innovation Team at Stanley Black & Decker is
currently looking for an energetic, creative, and self-driven Senior
Electrical Systems Engineer to work on future systems technologies.
The candidate should thrive in small, start-up like environments with
a mission to identify, iterate and prototype disruptive technologies
and products for our business. You will be challenged to think big
and swing big to deliver holistic solutions that meet user needs
while providing sustainable growth for the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead development of analog front-end and power electronics.
Design power tool electrical systems including battery packs,
chargers, motor controls and more
Engineer large scale system architectures
Generate electrical design schematics and PCB layouts
Hand build working prototypes and proof of concepts
Develop simulations to prove out design concepts
Deliver concepts with design for manufacture in mind
Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and failure mode
analysis, testing and validation
Engage in brainstorming with global multi-disciplinary teams to fill
idea pipeline
Open dialogue with global design and leadership teams in reporting
project status and technical information
Must be able to travel internationally up to 10%

Required Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of analogue, digital, power, memory,
integrated circuits and microcontroller hardware design and
implementation techniques
BSEE degree or related field; MSEE preferred
8+ years relevant experience regarding the responsibilities (listed above)
Experience using test equipment, including: oscilloscopes,
multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, function generators
and logic analyzers
Experience with microcontrollers (CPLDs and FPGAs)
Experience with AC and DC power system design and analysis.
Experience with power electronics topologies
Experience with I2C, USB, or HDMI interfaces
Ability to guide PWB layout designers in producing high speed, high
voltage board designs
Experience with rechargeable battery technology
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong hands on fabrication skills

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of OrCAD or Mentor Graphics Expedition
Programming skills in Verilog/VHDL, C or labview
Pspice modeling desirable
Experience with the IEC60601 compliance process for safety
