Contractor position (~20 hours per week)

We are looking for a technician who is experienced with working on
electromechanical assemblies. As an R&D technician, you will be
executing modifications, repairs, and scratch assembly projects under
the direction of our engineers. Projects will range from soldering
components onto a PCB to assembling small quadcopters. In order to

Responsibilities:
- Manually assemble complete drones from detailed written procedures.
- Perform non-standard repairs and modifications on electromechanical
drone hardware under the direction of the requesting engineer or
through limited work instructions.
- Create prototype assemblies based on engineering requests.
- Test completed assemblies using computer software as directed by a
test procedure.
- Perform repairs and reworks of PCBs, including removing components,
adding components, and adding external leads for test.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of electromechanical assemblies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Identify spare parts needed and assist in managing its stock.
- Document and report hardware configurations, deviations, test data,
and other relevant manufacturing data, as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in assembling electromechanical hardware.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with hand soldering and working with electrical prototypes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to precisely follow detailed written instructions.
- Takes pride in the quality of his or her work.
- Ability to execute on one-off R&D type projects with minimal instruction.
- Experience in manufacturing cable assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RC electronics.
- Knowledge of typical UAV/drone components.
