contract job

WE ARE HIRING LEAD TEACHERS!

We are looking for teachers who believe in the
power of teaching as a way to change the world.
Working at Young Outliers in the summer is an
opportunity to engage students in out-of-the-box
and hands-on learning. You will be exposed to
strategies of common core and NGSS that get
students excited about learning through making!
We create lessons using Design Thinking
strategies and share these with you so all you need to do is teach!

Our vision is to inspire children ages 6--17 and
provide them with exciting and fun learning
experiences. We guide them in finding their
passions and providing the foundation for their
future careers through hands-on learning and design entrepreneurship.

Teachers at our summer studios connect with
campers' hearts and minds. Educators facilitate
lessons to empower and liberate young minds
through engagement (hands-on activities),
creativity, teamwork, leadership, and empathy.Â

WHAT MAKES WORKING AT YOUNG OUTLIERS FUN AND MEANINGFUL?

Whether you are a seasoned educator or a new
teacher, working at Young Outliers will arm you
with educational approaches that inspire, engage, and excite young learners.

All lessons are prepared for teachers. You will
undergo a 2-day training program to prepare for
your role as facilitators of learning in the summer studios.Â

Teachers will be trained to facilitate curricula
inspired by neuroscience and the Constructivist
philosophy. Be exposed to strategies that engage
students in fun, active, and meaningful learning.
All activities are hands-on, taking educational
research on how best children and teens learn to the next level.

Lessons connect with real-world applications.
Each studio focuses on a subject matter theme,
for example, mechanical physics for 6--7 year
olds. Theoretical and high-level concepts such as
Newton's Laws of Motion are presented in the form
of games and interactive hands-on activities. The
modules are linked to design entrepreneurship,
providing campers with real-world challenges that
make the themes relevant and useful in shaping solutions.Â

Interns will assist teachers. To better meet the
needs of each of the campers, you will have the
support of interns, trained prior to the start of the summer camp.Â

We offer competitive salaries for six weeks, so
you can take a break from work before school begins.

We are a team. Young Outliers is a community of
learners and educators. You will be supported as
needed to make sure the summer learning
experience is enriching and enjoyable for everyone--teachers included.Â
