PhysioWave is a Bay Area medical device startup
developing novel technologies that will change
the standard of care in cardiovascular

commercialization of its first family of
products. Our device group is a small team of
passionate engineers who are motivated by the
common goal of improving the quality of health care.

Position description:
PhysioWave is looking for a highly motivated
hardware engineer who is excited about developing
life changing new technologies and thrives in an
entrepreneurial environment. Our ideal candidate
will be working hands-on with the core technology
of current and future devices, design
verification and validation testing, and transfer-to-manufacturing activities.

In this role, the candidate will:
· Prototype and debug PC boards
· Assemble and test prototype devices
· Design and build test fixtures and systems
· Test firmware and validate performances
against databases and document
· Write component specifications, test protocols and reports
· Conduct design verification testing
· Validate processes at key suppliers
· Provide feedback and suggestion for
improvements related to assembly, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and performance
· Provide clinical trial support

· Support data analysis (algorithm testing in Matlab)
Qualifications:
We are looking for a bright, motivated and
multi-talented engineer with experience in
embedded system development. Requirements include:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
electrical engineering, computer science, or related field,
· 3-5 years of industry experience
· Embedded system development experience
· Broad, demonstrated skill set,
encompassing electrical, software (firmware), and mechanical
· Strong electronics skills, including prototyping, layout, debugging
· Excellent practical skills (small
machining jobs, prototyping, coding)
· Knowledge of C/C++ (ideally on embedded platforms) and Matlab
· Data analysis experience (general
statistics, ANOVA, Design of Experiments, Matlab)
· Strong English communication (oral and
written) and interpersonal skills
· Self-driven, comfortable working in
small team (including adapting to various roles
as situations in small companies often require)
· Excellent technical reporting skills

· Familiarity with software development
lifecycle in a regulated environment (FDA preferred)
