Purpose of Position:The Engineering Intern
provides hands on technical support working in
conjunction with Engineering and Operations staff
to develop new devices and processes, and to
support manufacturing and operations efforts. The
Engineering Intern also contributes to
documentation, design, test, and assembly of
prototypes, as well as participating in
manufacturing builds and process development.

Interacts with Engineering and Operations staff, Vendors, Quality Assurance.

Essential Functions:
    * Tests and documents functionality of Vapor
Generators by executing standard Test Methods.
    * Helps troubleshoot Vapor Generators by
executing and documenting results of customized test proceduress
    * Helps troubleshoot Vapor Generators by
making component changes to Vapor Generators under engineering supervision
    * Designs and builds test samples, demo units and engineering prototypes.
    * Designs and builds tooling for product or sub-system fabrication.
    * Designs and builds test fixtures to test product sub-systems.
    * Assists in generating Manufacturing Process
Instruction (WI) and Standard Test Methods (TM) as required.
    * Maintains a clean and safe R&D laboratory and production areas.
    * Maintains a comprehensive and accurate laboratory notebook.
    * Plans work to allow efficient multi-tasking
consistent with departmental milestones
    * Communicates proactively with team members
to assure work product is consistent with departmental milestones
    * Provides frequent and timely feedback to
supervisor on results of all work performed.
    * Confers with engineers as required in areas
requiring additional technical or logistical guidance.
    * Works in accordance with AEGEA’s Quality
Policy and Quality System procedures.
Minimum Education:
  3 years of course work leading to an
Engineering degree. Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Minimum Experience:
Two college level laboratory courses in science.

Other Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to work well under pressure and
to meet multiple and occasional competing
deadlines while maintaining a cooperative working
relationship with other employees and supervisor.

· Ability to work in a highly detailed
environment where mental focus and accuracy of work output is essential.
    * Familiarity with:
        * laboratory tools and equipment,
        * Proficiency in math at a High School level.
        * Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
Working Environment:
Job duties are primarily performed in a lab
environment utilizing lab supplies/materials,
equipment and test fixtures. Manufacturing
activities may be conducted in CER or other
controlled areas. The noise level in the work
environment is usually low to moderate. May
perform some job duties that require special
clothing and practices and requires strict
adherence to departmental and standard operating
procedures. Occasionally requires some job
duties to be performed at animal and human
cadaver studies as well as live human cases.
