Medical Device Internship

Oculeve is a venture-backed Stanford Biodesign
startup looking to bring on a mechanical
engineering intern to help in the design and
manufacturing of a novel treatment for dry eye
disease. We are seeking an energetic,
hardworking, and motivated candidate to work on a
wide variety of projects, which may include:

· Designing test fixtures (SolidWorks modeling,
creating/modifying engineering drawings,
communicating with machinists/consultants,
assembling fixtures, testing/debugging, etc)

· Documenting and developing test methods

· Performing product testing

· Writing and testing LabVIEW programs

· Creating CAD models of existing product
components and creating new engineering drawings

· Documenting manufacturing processes, inspection procedures, etc

· Interviewing patients and physicians to understand needs

· Rapid prototyping and user testing to develop feedback on product ideas

The position may include other
tasks/responsibilities based on the candidate's
interests and capabilities, and the needs of the
company. Headquarters are in South San Francisco,
though the position may include spending up to
~50% time at our facility in Sunnyvale. Work will
include interfacing with several other members of
Oculeve's small team, as well as working
independently. We need someone who can completely
take ownership of several projects and see them
through to completion. The position will be
full-time during the summer, and can begin immediately on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate possesses the following skills/experience:

· Highly organized

· Great time management skills

· Machine shop experience

· Familiarity with design thinking and user testing

· SolidWorks modeling experience

· Great with mechanical fixture design

· LabVIEW programming experience

· Working understanding of design control process

· Knowledge of circuits and electrical engineering

· Fits in well with Oculeve's awesome team
