Position Title:
Wet Etch and Plating Engineer-110224

Position Description:

As a Manufacturing Development Engineer (Wet Etch
and Plating), with the Wireless Semiconductor
Division (WSD), you will develop and sustain wet
etch and electroplating unit processes in our 6",
state of the art, MEMS/CMOS/GaAs development and
production facilities which are located along the
Front Range in Northern Colorado.

The primary duties of this position are to
develop, implement, and maintain wet etch and
electroplating unit processes for the manufacture
of wireless products. You'll spend time
conducting experimental design and data analysis
to improve processes and support process changes,
ensuring the identification and resolution of
yield and defect issues, and communicating results across our organization.

Specific Objectives and Responsibilities:
• Work with Product Engineering and others in
manufacturing to improve and stabilize wafer wet
etch and electroplating fabrication processes
with respect to quality, yield, reliability,
productivity, cycle time, and cost reduction.
Characterize and document improvements.
• Characterize and optimize wet etch, strip, wet
clean, and electroplating processes.
• Create and maintain process controls and
metrics for wet etch and electroplating processes
and equipment in a high volume manufacturing environment.
• Deliver robust wet etch and electroplating
solutions to address development and
manufacturing issues and problems in
collaboration with various development teams,
equipment maintenance, and operational organizations.
• Work with the process development groups and
others in manufacturing to deliver new wet etch
and electroplating unit processes as required to
meet the technical requirements of new technology
development programs. Characterize and document new processes.
• New wet etch and electroplating tool selection,
acceptance, and start-up as well as optimization
and upgrade work to improve performance on tooling platforms.
• Waste minimization and operational cost improvements.

• BS (MS or higher preferred) in EE, ME, ChE,
Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry or related engineering discipline.
• Two or more years experience in wafer process
technology development or manufacturing.
• Wet Etch and electroplating skills and
knowledge (experience with GaAs wet etch and
electroplating manufacturing processes a strong plus):
Wet etch and electroplating chemistries and
reactions, interactions, and materials behavior.
Understanding of devices and impact of unit process on DC and RF response.
Applied wet etch and electroplating equipment and subsystem knowledge.
Use and knowledge of wet etch and
electroplating literature and reference materials.
• World class manufacturing practices and process control techniques .
• Excellent teamwork and good verbal and written
communication skills. Demonstrated strong
partnership skills with Operational and Equipment Maintenance organizations.

and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Additional knowledge/experience in one or more
of the following areas preferred:
IC fabrication unit processes: Dry Etch,
Deposition (CVD, sputtered, evaporated), Photolithography.
  Semiconductor device physics.
  Understanding of general processing
techniques/concepts for GaAs based devices and/or GaAs applications.
• U.S. Citizenship or permanent work visa.
