Mechanical Design Engineer



NuvoSun is a second generation innovator of thin-film photovoltaic
(PV) cells and modules based on flexible Copper Indium/Gallium di-
Selenide (CIGS) technology. NuvoSun's mission is to redefine the cost
point for PV cells and modules and to become the lowest cost producer
of these products by 2012. We are looking for a skilled, motivated,
team-oriented mechanical engineer to join our team to develop our
CIGS manufacturing equipment.



Job duties:



- Participate in concept development brainstorming and design reviews

- Recommend equipment design modifications to improve process
performance, and equipment manufacturability/reliability

- Take designs from concept to drawing release in short lead times

- Assist with equipment assembly and modification design/execution

- Interface regularly with engineers and personnel of other disciplines

- Independently manage sub-projects, including integration into the
equipment system and meeting cost/schedule targets

- Document and execute design changes to existing equipment



Job qualifications:



- BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred

- Strong familiarity with SolidWorks

- Hardware experience including materials selection, fasteners,
commercial hardware, etc

- Machine shop and hands-on skills including, but not limited to:
milling, turning, welding

- Ability to perform mechanical engineering analysis

- Strong work ethic and ability to work with team

- Must be able to work well and safely without close supervision

- Must have excellent communication skills

- Vacuum, sputtering experience a plus

- Wet chemical deposition experience a plus

- Coursework or experience in equipment design and automation desirable
